Oklahoma Promise 2022-2023:  Applicants must be Oklahoma residents, 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade students, parents' federal adjusted gross income does not exceed $60,000, with 1 or 2 dependent children OR $70,000 with 2 or 3 dependent children OR $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children, and students who promise to meet the reqirements of the program. Apply online at www.okpromise.org or get an application form Mrs. Stephens in the high school advisor's office.  Once a student has been accepted into the program, please notify Mrs. Stephens.  December 31 is the deadline for a student to finalize an incomplete application of the student's senior year.

American Indian College Fund
Deadline:  The American Indian College Fund (AICF) was established in 1989 to provide scholarships to American Indian/Alaska Native students attending tribal colleges. OERB Scholarship

Oklahoma Energy Rescources Board (OERB) awards up to $500,000 to students majoring in petroleum-related fields. Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4-point scale) and be enrolled full-time in one of the following undergraduate petroleum-related programs: Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience or Energy Management at University of Oklahoma (OU), Oklahoma State University (OSU) or Univerity of Tulsa (TU); or Petroleum Land Management at Oklahoma City University (OCU).

Varsity Tutors Scholarship

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $200 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $200 college scholarship.

OG&E Postive Energy Scholarship  Students can apply for the OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship, a four-year, $60,000 scholarship award. Since 2018, we’ve awarded 15 scholarships – totaling $900,000 – to high school seniors who commit to attending college in Oklahoma or Arkansas. Each year, we award scholarships to three graduating seniors in the OG&E service area. Mark your calendars to apply here starting December 1. Applications will be accepted through February 15, 2024
 
SPIE Scholarships  -  Deadline:  Feb 15, 2024

SPIE scholarships are available to students located anywhere in the world, in high school (pre-university/secondary), community and technical, undergraduate and graduate programs, who are studying in a related field of optics and photonics.

The scholarship award amount ranges from US $3,000 to US $11,000 and supports tuition and fees, textbooks, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction, and computer upgrades. Included in this scholarship are the following scholarships:

  • SPIE D.J. Lovell Scholarship, US $11,000
    • The D.J. Lovell Scholarship is the Society's largest and most prestigious scholarship. This scholarship is sponsored by SPIE.
  • John Kiel Scholarship, US $10,000
    • This scholarship is in honor of SPIE founding member, John Kiel, in recognition of his long-standing and significant contributions to the Society. This scholarship is sponsored by SPIE and is awarded for student's potential for long-term contribution to the field of optics and optical engineering.
  • Laser Technology, Engineering, and Applications Scholarship, US $5,000
    • The Laser Technology, Engineering, and Applications Scholarship is awarded in recognition of a student's scholarly achievement in laser technology, engineering, or applications. Funds are provided in part by a gift from the former Forum for Military Applications of Directed Energy, and in part by SPIE.
  • Teddi Laurin Scholarship, US $5,000
    • SPIE partners with Photonics Media to fund the Teddi Laurin Scholarship to raise awareness of optics and photonics and to foster growth and success in the photonics industry by supporting students involved in photonics. This new scholarship is in memory of Laurin Publishing and Photonics Media founder Teddi Laurin.
  • Optical Design and Engineering Scholarship, US $5,000
    • The Optical Design and Engineering Scholarship was established in honor of Bill Price and Warren Smith, both well-respected members of SPIE's technical community. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in the field of optical design and engineering.
  • *New* Women in Optics Scholarship, US $5,000
    • Sponsored by Optimax and SPIE, the goal of the Women in Optics Scholarship is to support the education of women in the United States studying in the fields of optics, photonics, or engineering. Two awards will be granted each year. 
  • More than 70 additional SPIE Optics and Photonics Scholarships, ranging from US $3,000 to $5,000

The Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship - $1,000 - Deadline:  Feb. 19, 2024  

In honor of his mother, Bobbie Blossom, who was a caregiver for his father, Rashad established The Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship in 2022 to offer financial relief to students who have a parent who has been the primary caregiver for a loved one or who have served as caregivers themselves. Twice a year, Blossom Law offers college students the opportunity to receive $1,000 through the Blossom Law Caregiver Scholarship. The award may be used to supplement the costs of tuition, room and board, and other educational expenses.

Jimmy L. Dean Scholarship - Up to $10,000 - Deadline:  April 30, 2024 or if attending OSUT, the deadline is July 15, 2024
Eligibility:  Minimum 25 ACT score for 4 year colleges and 17 for OSUIT students, responsible citizens who have worked hard and achieved good academic standing..  Awards are structured in a manner to fill in the gap between the scholarships and awards already earned by a student and the cost of tuition and academic fees plus room and board charges, with the goal to eliminate or reduce the need for student debt.  Awards are primarily awarded to students pursuing degrees that are science related.  Therefore, some of the majors we will not consider are music, performing arts, English, literature, Psychology, Sociology, Journalism, Business, Pre-law, Political Science, Music, Education or similar majors.  Application can be found at:  www.jimmiedeanfoundation.org.

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be attending college or university no later than September of 2024.
B) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater and plan on attending a school in the United States.
